JustTip is an HMRC-registered tronc operator and Ireland's No.1 tipping solution. We collect the tip, run the allocation rules the business agreed to, and pay each worker direct — with the written policy, end-to-end transaction reports and fair-distribution audit trail UK and Irish law now require, generated automatically.

For merchant banks and POS/EPOS partners, the same rail is exposed as a single API. Split-settle tips at the point of capture, keep them off the merchant's P&L, and remove the 15% employer NIC liability on every tip processed.

Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act 2023

UK

100% of tips to staff with no employer deductions, a written tipping policy, monthly payouts and 3-year records. Non-compliance: up to £5,000 per affected employee.

Payment of Wages (Tips and Gratuities) Act 2022

IE

Written tipping policy on display, end-to-end transaction reports, fair distribution. WRC surprise inspections with on-the-spot fines up to €1,500 (court fines up to €2,500).

HMRC-registered independent tronc

UK

Tronc administered independently of the employer — the precondition for the NIC exemption HMRC requires. Removes 15% employer NIC and 8% employee NIC on every tip.

Auto-enrolment safe

IE

Tips processed outside payroll are not pensionable. Keeps part-time workers below the auto-enrolment threshold and removes 1.5% pension contributions on tip income.

How is this different from JustTip's direct merchant product?+

Same engine, different distribution. TaaS is the embedded version — your platform owns the merchant relationship, we power the rails, allocation and compliance underneath.

How long to go live?+

Sandbox in days. Production in weeks. The split-settlement rails are modular and already in production across UK and Ireland.

White-label, co-brand or JustTip-brand?+

Your call. The worker app, statements and emails can ship fully white-labelled, co-branded with you, or under JustTip — same engine either way.

Who carries the regulatory weight?+

JustTip operates the tronc independently — that's the requirement for the NIC exemption. You don't take on tronc-operator duties by integrating.

Commercials?+
